Greenwood Working

This course has been designed to give you an in-depth insight into how to safely and proficiently use a range of cutting tools to make useful products out of greenwood

The course will start with a session on cutting tool safety and cutting techniques as you will initially be using knives and saws to harvest materials. We will inspect the wood to that have harvested to better understand how it grows and behaves, and therefore how to work it productively and efficiently.

We will then go on to look at other greenwood working tools such as the bow saw, different axes, bit and brace drill and crook knives.

The remainder of the day will be spent working with greenwood that you have harvested and the intention will be to walk away with at least a greenwood stool and a spoon and whatever else we have time to make.

This is very much a hands on course and by the end of the day those hands will be sore! You will, however, leave with a new set of skills and understanding that will have you making your own Christmas presents for years to come.

You will need to provide your own lunch, all other equipment will be provided.
